Welcome to ASQ Section 1001 Grand Rapids 2010

This section year has officially ended for most members.  Our May 13 event was a great way to end the year.  David Lalain, from AIAG, gave us some great insight into quality use in the healthcare profession.

We had excellent speakers and tutorials throughout the year.  Thank you to all who volunteered their ideas, knowledge, networking and professional expertise to give us quality tools we can use.

Throughout the year we sell 50/50 raffle tickets.  50% is given away each month to a ticket purchaser and the other 50% is given at the last event meeting each year.  Congratulations to the winner, Gary Camp.

Congratulations to Jarrad Grandy for being the winner of Section 1001 Grand Rapids Each One Reach One campaign.  He will receive a free pass to the September section event.  Keep up the good work.

Recognition is also given for perfect attendance to the section events.  This year we have seven people who attended all nine section events.  They will also receive a free pass to the September event.

Everyone at our golf outing, June 4, had a great time, good food and prizes were enjoyed by all.  Proceeds from the golf outing go to the section’s scholarship fund.  We look forward to next year.  Travis McCrumb, Ferris State University, has been awarded the Hans Bajaria Memorial Scholarship for the 2010/2011 year.  Congratulations Travis!  We hope to see you at section events in the future.

Please keep your e-mail and preferred mailing address current with ASQ national, http://asq.org   In July we will start sending newsletters for preparation courses starting in August and September.

We will also be mailing out an informational brochure to all members in August listing event dates and programs for the year.

Visit our website at http://asq1001.org  for updated information.  Your section leadership committee will be hard at work over the summer to bring you knowledge, networking and opportunities.

September 8, starts off the next section event with “Problem Solving for Human Error”.  Mark Rusco is the speaker.

We look forward to seeing you in September.  Have a great summer!
