Hello quality professionals:

By all accounts, we had a great membership year and, with our May events, we expect to go out with a BANG! Come take part in the Knowledge, Networking, & Opportunities.

Our ASQ Presents! event the evening of May 8 is sure to interest even the most discerning quality professionals. Renowned author, speaker, and ASQ Fellow, Forrest Breyfogle, will provide a one-hour presentation titled: “Why Go Beyond Lean Six Sigma and the Balanced Scorecard.”

[Mr. Breyfogle has authored or co-authored eleven books, published over 70 technical articles for a wide range of publications, and has been interviewed by television, radio, and publication editors about managing the dynamics of organizations and the application of all forms of enterprise improvement methodologies (Smarter Solutions).]

The following day, May 9, Mr. Breyfogle will hold a one-day seminar titled: “Going Beyond Six Sigma and the Balanced Scorecard: The Integrated Enterprise Excellence (IEE) System.” For a preview of this topic, read Mr. Breyfogle’s article titled "The Future of Quality Management" in the February edition of Quality Digest. Note: This one-day event will be held at The Pinnacle Center in Hudsonville, MI.

Also at our ASQ Presents! event the evening of May 8 we have a special tutorial. Mr. Nathan Murley, one of our student members from Ferris State University, will share a portion of the paper he authored for the Student Technical Paper Contest at the World Conference on Quality and Improvement. Nate was invited to present at the conference in Houston, TX. Nate’s paper will be published on our website for our members to read.

In May we also have our annual golf outing at the Pines Golf Club. The date for this event is May 30. There is still plenty of time to enter your four-man scramble team. If you do not have a team, we can pair you up with others looking for team members. There will be door prizes and food immediately after the golf. Don’t miss it!

Check our ASQ Presents! page of our website for more details on all of these events…

Remember to bring your business cards and make the most of the networking opportunity at our May 8 event. We provide you with this opportunity; it’s up to you to make the most of it!

See you at the Elk’s!
